Baldev Dauji Temple History

This Mandir has been established in 1580 AD on the day of Margashirsha Purnima of December month and built by Seth Shyam Das. Baldev Dauji temple history enunciates that the Shri Dauji Temple was dedicated to Balaram, the brother of Lord Krishna and the local people used to call him “Dau Ji”.

This Temple has three doors which give access to the calla, one surmounted by a squat pyramidal tower. Apart from the main chapel Baladeva, which is generally completely dressed and embellished with jewels, it contains another life-sized statue, supposed to represent his wife Revati.

Baldev temple has a brick built tank, spread over 80 yards square, called as Kshir Sagar, which is denoted as the “Sea of Milk” and “KshirKund”. The Sea is in a crumbling condition, and the surface of the water is always covered with thick green algae.

As this temple is in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, one can easily reach there because it is not far from Dehli. Trains from Nizamuddin Railway station (South Delhi) are easily available for Mathura Junction.

Dauji Mandir Vrindavan is located exactly at a distance of 22 km from Mathura on the eastern edge of the Braj Mandal at the center of Etah-Mathura Marg in Uttar Pradesh and one can reach there by using a cab and hardily it takes 43 minutes from Mathura Junction, Mayur Vihar, Uttar Pradesh.
